UKRAINIAN ROADS WILL BE IMPROVED

This month, State Agency for Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has announced that they will use UAH 1.528 billion ($ 188, 594, 928) for the development and maintenance of a network of public roads, including the construction of highways across the Dnipro River in Zaporizhia and Cherkasy.
According to the document, the funds will be transferred through the redistribution of funds within the general budget allocations foreseen for Ukravtodor for 2012 in the special fund of the national budget.

Ukraine Closes Marketing Year Doubling Grain Export

Kyiv, June 27, 2012. Ukraine will have exported some 21-22 million tons of grain by June 30th, reckons the Head of transnational trading company NMG Ukraine Mykola Horbachev. The expert listed the company’s estimate numbers regarding wheat export in 2011-2012 marketing year – 5 million tons, barley – 2.3 million, corn – 13 million tons.
In 2011, Ukraine joined world’s top three grain exporters. A year prior – in 2010 – Ukraine landed fourth on the list of leading grain exporters, following the USA, the EU, and Canada. Moreover, Ukraine currently ranks number one in global barley exports. Additionally, Ukraine became the third largest corn supplier in the world in 2011, surpassing Brazil and being the second runner-up to the USA and Argentina.

EBRD invests in first wind power project in Ukraine

€13.3 million wind farm loan to improve regional power supply, reduce carbon emissions.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is making its first ever investment into wind power generation in Ukraine by organising a €13.3 million financing package to Eco-Optima, a Ukrainian-Italian joint venture company, which will operate a wind farm in Staryy Sambir region of western Ukraine. The loan will consist of two parallel tranches: a 10-year EBRD loan of €9.5 million and a 15-year loan of €3.8 million from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF).
The EBRD is the largest financial investor in Ukraine. To date, the Bank has committed over €7.4 billion (US$ 9.76 billion) through 293 projects.

Investment boom waits for Ukraine in cattle breeding

Thanks to investments of local businessmen, Ukraine will soon refuse from import of pork. A similar investment boom is expected in the dairy sector, UKRINFORM reports citing Focus magazine.
In 2012, investment boom may start in dairy cattle husbandry, because, the initial conditions are very similar. 80% of products were provided by small economies and it was very difficult for processing enterprises to find quality milk with them.
At the same time, over recent year, the farmers' dairy herd reduced several fold and in 2011, there was not even a seasonal drop of prices for milk, on the contrary, the prices grew.
And the projects are enough, which need this raw material: only recently, Danon-Unimilk and a group of companies Milk Alliance, which is planning to arrange production of infant's food on the basis of Yahotyn butter factory since October 2012, stated about their wish to expand production.

Investment in economy rises 38.7%, reaches $18 bln

Own funds of enterprises and organizations were used at UAH 90.214 billion.
KYIV, November 15, 2011 (UBO) – Capital investment in Ukraine in the first nine months of 2011 compared with same period in 2010 grew by 38.7 percent to UAH 143.2 billion, the State Statistics Service said in written statement. Investment in tangible assets amounted to UAH 138.297 billion.
The largest amount of investment was used in the industry - UAH 52,911.7 billion, of which the mining industry - UAH 15.983 billion, the processing - UAH 25,752.4 billion, the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water - UAH 11,176.3 billion. UAH 21.4 billion was invested in transport and communications, UAH 20.9 billion - real estate, agriculture - UAH 10.8 billion.
